Houston Symphony Overview:

The symphony is now one of America's oldest performing arts organizations and the largest performing arts organization in Houston.
Summary:
The Help Desk Technician will be part of a small team that provides in-house technical PC hardware and software support to Houston Symphony staff members. You will respond to user calls and support tickets and work to address the user needs both remotely and in-person.
While your primary focus will be in support of end-users, you will also be responsible for helping onboard and train new employees, write documentation, and help maintain systems and support a variety of applications.
Essential Job Functions :
Manage help desk.
Assign tickets to appropriate IT member.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and support IT requests.
Onboard and train new hires in accessing network resources.
Support and maintain in-house computer systems, desktops, and peripherals. This includes remote installation, diagnosis, repair, maintenance, and upgrade of hardware, software, and other equipment while ensuring optimal performance and minimal down time.
Set up and install workstations.
Active Directory Maintenance.
Microsoft 365 Maintenance.
Anticipate internal/external business challenges to effectively develop detailed work breakdown structures, schedules, estimates, and resource management plans.
Maintain project documentation and monitor and communicate status to IT leadership and key stakeholders.
IT On-Call rotation, usually one weekend/month.
Perform additional duties as required by the Houston Symphony Society.
Qualifications High School Diploma / GED, desirable experience in Windows environment
One (1) year work experience installing, maintaining, and repairing computers and peripherals preferred.
Microsoft 365 and SharePoint experience a plus.
Good communication and organizational skills.
Outgoing, team-oriented, and goal driven.
Professional, strong work ethic.
Tessitura software experience a plus.
Able to work some nights and weekends, typically during software/system upgrades and performance on-call rotation.
