Contractors Steel powered byUPG is looking to hire a Territory Sales Manager to join our dynamic team! Contractors Steel is a growing steel service center that has been in business for almost 60 years. The Territory Sales Manager (Outside Sales) will focus on business development and customer retention within their respective sales categories. An ideal candidate will be an energetic and confident sales professional looking to join a rewarding and entrepreneurial environment. This position will report to the Group President.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Prospect for new business and maximizing growth opportunities. Accountable for increasing revenue by selling value added products to enhance our market share, forecast sales trends and sales dollars.
Manage accounts including understanding margin analysis, competitive market information and quality improvement initiatives.
Build strong relationships with contacts at all levels across various functions within customer organizations. Maintain and enhance our sales proposition with new and existing customers.
Build strong relationships with team members across the organization. Effectively partner with Inside Sales Representatives to ensure customer needs are met, addressing customer complaints, concerns, and any quality issues.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; and participating in industry related associations and events.
Other duties and tasks as assigned.
Position Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in related field or relevant experience
5 years of outside sales experience in the structural steel industry
Strong business acumen with excellent customer service, interpersonal and both oral, and written communication skills; persuasive negotiation skills
Ability to work well and excel within a team or individually
Self-starter with a demonstrated ability to build strong relationships quickly
Effective problem-solving/conflict resolution skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality
Ability to read and interpret blueprints preferred
Basic understanding of metallurgical terminology
Proficient in MS Office Suite, ERP and CRM systems
Frequent travel required
Candidates must be able to follow all safety policies, procedures, practices, and other related requirements
