Job Summary

The Arch Catastrophe Analytics team is looking to add a Senior Catastrophe Research Analyst to our dynamic and growing team. This role would work closely with senior leadership, underwriters and actuarial teams across Arch Insurance to develop solutions for natural and man-made catastrophes. Candidates should be self-starters, with strong data skills who are looking to be creative and ready to take on any task put in front of them.

Responsibilities

Perform validation of hazard and vulnerability components of the major peril models and evaluate new models and datasets

Examine model version change

Develop the Arch View of Risk framework for use across the organization

Assist in the implementation of innovative tools supporting our post event response and reserving

Evaluate 3rd party data and develop standards for use across business units

Analyze claim data and make recommendations based on event information

Education and Experience

5+ years of commercial catastrophe modeling experience

Expertise in 3rd party catastrophe model vendor platforms (AIR, KCC)

Expert level knowledge of natural perils (Earthquake, wildfire)

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, SQL

Experience with Python, R or geospatial tools (ESRI) a plus

Estimated Travel up to 10%
