The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.

Description

Under minimal supervision, the catastrophe (CAT) Management Analyst responsible for the collection, modeling and quality assurance monitoring of the data used to assess vulnerability to natural and man-made events. Contributes to the development of risk management tools, pricing and planning loads, data models, and processes needed to monitor and control exposures.

**This role may have in-office requirements based on candidate location.**

**This is a ranged posting for an Analyst or Senior Analyst. Level offered will be based on candidate experience at management discretion.**

Responsibilities:

Accurately collects and monitors data on a regular basis, reviewing for inconsistencies and errors to ensure data integrity.

Utilize CAT Management and data modeling software tools.

Work with CAT Management and Product Line Mangers to ensure the efficiency and accuracy of the data collections process.

Identify opportunities for efficiencies and improvements to processes, controls and technology systems related to CAT Management. Develop and implement recommended improvements.

Performs technical analysis of moderate complexity, makes recommendations to management and assists in the implementation of recommendations, programs and procedures.

Contributes to the underlying analysis on projects important to the SBU.

Queries data to conduct ad hoc analysis of metrics.

Serves as team member on medium-term or moderate complexity projects.

May occasionally lead own workstream.

Ideal candidate will have:

Geographical Information Systems (GIS) experience.

Professional experience using SQL, SAS, and/or Python.

Experience conducting techncial analysis in professional setting.

Qualifications College degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Finance/General Business or Engineering or equivalent education and/or experience.

3+ years catastrophic modeling and CAT management reporting experience1+ of experience and demonstrated proficiency with CAT management tool employed by LIU.

Demonstrated data mining skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong Excel, Access, PowerPoint and SQL knowledge.

Insurance and/or reinsurance background preferred.
