Position Description
Provide leadership, accountability, and support to AWC’s Field and Office teams to ensure effective and safe execution of work.
Serve as a subject matter expert on safety-related matters, providing guidance, support, and advice to all levels of the organization.
Coordinate, schedule, and provide safety training on project sites and in regional offices. Assist in developing the project safety training schedule.
Coordinate organizational and project specific safety programs. Assist in planning and coordinating work to minimize risks and aggressively manage losses involving injuries or property damages.
Conduct monthly project site inspections and comprehensive safety assessments to monitor progress (changed conditions), discuss upcoming safety considerations, and support project team members’ safety excellence. Intervene as needed to address and resolve issues and problems, and recommend, approve, and implement modifications to the project approach as needed.
Analyze safety metrics to develop Company safety and risk management initiatives and training.
Stay informed about emerging safety regulations, industry trends, and technological advancements to proactively address potential risks and improve safety practices.
Position Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Management, or related field preferred. Equivalent work experience will be considered.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a commercial construction safety management role.
Certified Safety Professional or Commercial Health and Safety Technician certifications.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
OSHA 30 Certification
