As our new Site Solutions Consultant, you will be working closely with Project Managers and other Consultants on environmental characterization, investigation, remediation, ecological assessments, and remedial strategy and implementation. At least a Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science from an accredited institution

Minimum of 2+ years of relevant work experience in environmental consulting. Work experience should include a mix of field and office responsibilities. Please note that we are looking for a candidate that has some prior professional experience in environmental consulting. Academic internships, field camps, etc. are not substitutes for the required years of experience.

Experience with environmental regulatory programs, document database management, risk assessment, environmental sampling (Soil, water, sediment, fumes/dust), and/or due diligence experience is a plus.

Current OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training is required. OSHA 8-Hour HAZWOPER Supervisor is a plus

For candidates with a background in geology and environmental science, classwork or experience with geophysics, geochemistry, organic chemistry hydrology, ecology, and biology is desired. Groundwater flow and/or contaminant transport modeling, GIS mapping, and/or field geology coursework (as applicable) are a plus.

Fundamentals of Geology (FG) certification is a plus, as applicable.

Candidates must be willing to travel up to 50% of the time and possess a valid driver’s license. Most travel will be local; however, some may include overnight stays and may be out of state. Travel duration may range from 1 to 10 days, depending upon the specific requirements of each project.

Candidates must be willing to work overtime, evenings, and occasionally weekends to support large scale projects.

The physical requirements of this position may include the need for climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing/sitting/walking, pushing/pulling, and lifting up to 40 lbs. In certain situations, this position may expose the candidate to extremes in weather (hot/cold); high noise levels, to hazards such as a proximity to moving machine parts and moving vehicles, electrical current and exposure to chemicals. Employees may be required to take specific training and to wear personal protective equipment (PPE).

Tasks and Responsibilities

Coordination and oversight of drilling, sampling, surveying, and laboratory services.

Performance of field work, including soil, sediment, groundwater, surface water, soil vapor, and indoor air sampling, hydraulic testing such as slug test and pump tests, soil boring and monitoring well installation, soil logging, and well purging and sampling.

Oversight of implementation and field management (including operation, maintenance, and monitoring) of various environmental remediation systems (e.g., soil vapor extraction (SVE), enhanced in-situ bioremediation (eISB), in-situ chemical oxidation (ISCO), permeable reactive barriers (PRB), and groundwater extraction and treatment).

Assistance with the development of comprehensive site investigation work plans by participating in scope of work development, budgeting, and data analysis to characterize contaminants in sediments, soil, air, surface water, and groundwater.

Assistance with development of Conceptual Site Models and ecological assessments.

Assistance with the preparation and editing of technical and regulatory reports.
