Director Warehouse Operations

We are hiring a Director of Operations to oversee our Dallas, TX warehouse locations. We are looking to build out our high-turn fulfillment and traditional multi-tenant business at these five sites and seeking a leader with operational experience who will combine skill in process and systems with hands-on coaching and enthusiasm for taking on big challenges. This full-time salaried position will report to the Vice President of Operations.
DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Foster a culture of Safety, Respect, Accountability, and Innovation.
Develop and implement strategic plans for warehouse operations to meet organizational objectives.
Ensure processes and training are compliant with regulations.
Actively monitor and optimize KPI's and financial performance.
Leverage data analytics and automation tools to optimize workflows and decision-making processes.
Actively monitor and manage operating budget, including expenses for labor, equipment, and supplies.
Coach team to achieve optimal facility layouts based on data (e.g., item dimensions and velocity).
Design/modify processes to improve productivity without making employees feel overburdened.
Actively participate in Sales calls and site tours to drive revenue growth.
Collaborate with Railroad partners to provide excellent service to our customers.
Ensure leaders effectively coach, develop, document, and monitor employee performance.
Partner with the WMS Team, Continuous Improvement Teams, and more to drive improvements.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, responsive to email and phone calls.
Willingness to learn and be innovative to explore new strategies.
Skilled and trained in Continuous Improvement and Problem-solving techniques.
In-depth knowledge of warehouse processes, inventory management principles, and distribution operations.
Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools and software.
Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work effectively under pressure.
Familiarity with relevant regulations and compliance requirements (e.g., OSHA).
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of four years of experience working in warehouse operations or related fields
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to use hands and fingers for computer keyboarding, and answer phone calls.
Ability to communicate via the telephone using speaking and hearing skills.
