Job Description Job Description Salary: 65,000-75,000 DOE
This position seeks to reach children and their families throughout the greater Sammamish/Issaquah/Redmond area and prayerfully work to connect current members and potential members to the SPC community through relationship-building, programming, age-appropriate spiritual formation, and service opportunities.
This position leads and advances the ministry with children at Sammamish Presbyterian Church. The primary responsibilities for this position are as follows:
Develop and execute all aspects of SPC Kids (Sunday Morning Children’s Ministry), VBS and MomCo (formerly MOPS)
Recruit and Lead all Volunteers involved in Children’s Ministry
Develop and Execute events for Parents/Families
Develop and Execute Mid-Week ministry to 4th/5th
Build Healthy Pastoral Relationships with SPC Parents/Families
He/she/they collaborate with elders, pastors, staff and the Children’s Leadership Team to ensure that each program works in coordination with the others toward a common goal of being a Christ-Centered, Mission Minded Family.

FOR CHILDREN’S MINISTRY
Vision
Collaborate with leadership to shape, maintain and communicate a fresh vision for children’s ministry, planning for the future of the entire ministry within the Department.
Inspire faith development in children, youth and families through weekly Sunday SPC Kids Ministry.
Ensure that all programs are Christ-centered, relational, age appropriate, safe, and engaging.
Leadership
Serve as a visible, passionate, proactive advocate for the SPC's children, families, and ministry programs, continually highlighting and influencing issues and actions that are important to the spiritual nurture of children and families.
Work with staff team to maintain key departmental operations/systems for a sustainable, healthy ministry: resources, facilities, publicity, communications, policies, procedures & schedules
Build joyful, engaged volunteer teams to support the ministry, by calling them to volunteer, providing effective training and supervision, and equipping them with skills for successful and positive volunteer experiences.
Guide the development of new programs, establishing clear goals and execution plans.
Develop and equip the Children’s Leadership Team. The CLT is made up of Staff, Elders, and lay volunteers.
The goal is to work with the elders to lead these meetings together. You will be working to provide a spiritual focus, accomplish tasks necessary for Children’s Ministry events, etc., and build relationships within this team.
Relationships
Create and maintain collaborative connections amongst the children’s ministry leaders, including staff and volunteers of all ministries, e.g. Sunday classes, MidWeek Events, MomCo, VBS, etc.
Establish a “family” culture in children’s ministry that is welcoming and nurturing, with positive, pastoral relationships with and among parents, children, staff, and volunteers.
Provide a supportive and visible leadership presence at programs and events.
Provide timely follow-up and welcome for all first-time guests.
Regularly pray for the children’s ministry staff, volunteers, children, and parents.

Biblical knowledge/training
A warm, joyful, nurturing presence
Experience in working with children and overseeing programs for children
A demonstrated self-starter with strong management, organizational, and leadership skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion
Must submit and pass a background check
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
Experience using social media platforms to connect with a community
Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
HOURS : 40 hours/week, including Sundays. Exempt status.
