Immigration Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm specializing in immigration law seeks an Immigration Attorney to provide legal counsel, representation, and strategic solutions to clients navigating immigration proceedings. The ideal candidate will have experience in removal defense, family-based petitions, and a strong understanding of immigration law.
Job Duties:
Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.
Conduct intake interviews with detained individuals at centers to assess case details and determine legal strategies.
Prepare and file diverse immigration applications, including but not limited to removal defense, family-based immigration petitions, and humanitarian relief.
Review and adjust immigration applications/packets to ensure accuracy and compliance with current laws and regulations.
Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations on immigration law changes and implications.
Conduct strategic immigration consultations with potential clients to assess case merits and develop appropriate legal strategies.
Prepare clients and witnesses for court appearances and USCIS interviews, providing legal analysis and advice.
Draft and submit legal briefs and memoranda for various immigration cases, advocating effectively for clients.
Requirements:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
Admission to the State Bar, preferably California, with eligibility to practice immigration law.
1-4 years of experience practicing immigration law, focusing on removal defense and family-based petitions.
Strong understanding of immigration concepts, procedures, and regulations.
Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian Relief, EOIR, Legal Writing, Detained Cases, Citizenship applications, and other USCIS filings.
Proficiency in case management software; experience with immigration case management software preferred.
Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish preferred.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, proven to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
Ability to manage a caseload efficiently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines consistently.
