POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the VP, Construction, the Construction Project Manager will provide support in project management for possible construction projects at all locations, including but not limited to: Northern California, Arizona, Illinois, and Nevada. This position will require you to define a project scope, develop a detailed work plan and project schedule, adhere to a specified budget, and provide status reports of any given project. It is important to supervise trades and ensure all work is done to HGG's high-quality standards and required project deliverables.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Work closely with Vendors and provide direction to Store Management regarding project requirements;
Prepare scope of work, project delivery resource requirements, cost estimate budget, work plan schedule milestones, quality control, and risk identification for all assigned projects;
Review project plans, specifications, budgets, and schedules for all assigned projects;
Create and control the budget throughout projects;
Communicate clearly with leadership on project status and any outstanding information in a timely manner;
Collaborate with store operations, contractors, suppliers, vendors, engineers, construction managers, and architects to determine the necessary resources and scope of work, including necessary materials and expected labor required;
Manage and collaborate in compliance areas including, but not limited to, Health Department, Fire Safety, Building Maintenance, and Equipment Coordination and Certification;
Manage construction progress and direct recovery action as appropriate;
Prepare reports to successfully manage projects, such as progress analysis/schedules, billings, and status reports, and communicate findings and recommendations;
Ability to travel to various regions (Arizona, Nevada, Northern and Southern California), at times on short notice;
Stay current on the latest developments, trends, and regulations in the construction industry.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or GED
Project management skills
Commercial construction experience
Auto CAD knowledge is preferred, but not necessary
Ability to read floor plans and provide dimensioned layouts/sketches when plans are not available
Strong leadership skills
Strong critical thinking and analytical capabilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
Ability to work nights and weekends as needed.
Bilingual Spanish and English
