A VP of HR ensures the success of a company and its HR department by developing and promoting effective HR strategies as well as direct reporting on them to the company’s CEO.
In order to succeed in this role, you must have exceptional leadership, management, strategic thinking and problem-solving skills. In addition to that, you must also have a solid background in HR with experience in a similar senior role.
Vice President (VP) of HR duties and responsibilities
· Create and deliver briefings to executives
· Directly participates in planning and decision, and provides broad administrative leadership and coordination.
· Oversee an organization’s recruitment, interview, selection, and hiring processes
· Plan employee benefit, payroll, health and safety programs
· Facilitate and monitor the implementation of standardized human resource processes
· Adhere to all internal policies and legal standards.
· Effectively structure benefits programs to attract and retain top talent
· Recommend new and improved measures for performance evaluations
· Employee development and performance management skills.
· Knowledge of financial/business analysis techniques.
· Ability to interpret business and operational needs and develop integrated, creative solutions.
· Update systems
Vice President (VP) of HR requirements and qualifications
· Advanced degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related fields
· HR Certification preferred
· Previous experience working as a HR Director; 7+ years of progressive HR/HRIS experience
· In-depth knowledge about local and international Human Resource Processes, employment legislation, and legal regulations
· Understanding and experience with Employer Branding and Recruitment Marketing strategies
· Excellent knowledge of all aspects of HR management
· Experience with HR tools and recruiting software
· Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on company’s success
· Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
· Team player
· Good time-management skills
· Great interpersonal and communication skills
