Hispanic Access’ Forestry Program manages $4 million a year in passthrough grants and oversees programming designed to increase equitable access to trees and green spaces, and the many benefits they provide, with a focus on disadvantaged communities. This program will foster new relationships and build capacity in existing community collaboratives composed of faith-leaders, youth, and other local stakeholders across the country. These subawards will apply culturally-relevant, nature-based solutions to address unmet economic, social and environmental challenges.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
As the Grant Portfolio Associate, you will play a crucial role in overseeing outgoing grants and managing a portfolio of grantees to ensure the successful execution of their proposed projects and alignment with the organization's mission and goals. You will be responsible for evaluating grant proposals, monitoring grantee performance, and reporting on the impact of grants to support effective grantmaking. The Grant Portfolio Associate will report to the Forestry Program Director.
ROLE/RESPONSIBILITIES
Grant Management:
Review grant proposals to ensure they align with the organization's mission and strategic priorities.
Collaborate with program officers to assess the feasibility and impact of proposed projects.
Conduct due diligence on potential grantees, including financial analysis and background checks.
Portfolio Oversight:
Manage a portfolio of grantees, providing ongoing support, guidance, and technical assistance as needed.
Monitor grantee performance, ensuring that they meet the objectives outlined in their proposals.
Review progress reports and financial documentation submitted by grantees.
Compliance and Reporting:
Ensure that grantees adhere to grant agreements and comply with reporting requirements.
Prepare regular reports on grantee performance, outcomes, and impact for internal and external stakeholders.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of grants, including budgets and financial data.
Relationship Building:
Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with grantees, serving as the primary point of contact for grant-related inquiries.
Collaborate with the organization's program staff to provide additional support and resources to grantees.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., nonprofit management, business, public administration).
2+ years of experience in grant portfolio management.
Strong understanding of nonprofit organizations and the grantmaking process.
Excellent organizational and project management skills.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience with Salesforce is a plus.
Must be bilingual in English and Spanish.
LOCATION
The location of this position is remote with occasional travel, but employee must live in the United States.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The annual salary range for this position is $55,00-$70,000 depending on qualifications and experience. In addition to working remotely, Hispanic Access offers full-time employees a generous benefits package that includes a 100% paid health, dental, and vision for the individual, an unlimited vacation policy, 10 sick days per year, 13 paid holidays, a monthly phone/internet stipend and a 401(k) plan with employer match.
