Document Control Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY

The Document Control Specialist is responsible for providing administrative office support to the Quality department on an operational level. This position will be responsible for managing and tracking company documents, processing, and communicating document changes per the Change Request process as well as assist with training in compliance with MKC departmental policies, processes, and quality systems.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Perform general clerical duties including establishing a robust record system and maintaining those records.

Manages standardization of manufacturing and support department document control system and software to complete updates and oversee approvals and releases of documents in timely manner.

Manages standardization and maintenance of serialized production/labeling system documentation to comply with needs of plant operations.

Assists plant level operations for administrative support with the creation of company procedure and work instructions.

Maintain knowledge of all process, procedure and policies within production

Prioritizes daily routines and does multi-tasking if needed.

Navigates and creates documents using.

- Windows-based software

Manage projects as required.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Manufacturing office conditions with frequent visitation to a heavy manufacturing environment. On occasion; must be able to travel between 3 facilities within the greater Madison/Sun Prairie area.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and work. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend, or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift to 40 pounds. Activities require a significant amount of sitting at office and work desks and in front of a computer monitor. General office environment, however, must be able to regularly walk throughout all the manufacturing facilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Appropriate education and/or experience may be substituted on an equivalent basis.

2-year Collage Degree in a related field

Experience in a manufacturing facility.

LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Proficient written and verbal communication skills.

JOB SKILLS Proficient in MS Office

Ability to be flexible and able to function comfortably in a fast paced, constantly changing, and ambiguous environment while maintaining a positive team environment.

Reliable and flexible to work additional hours on short notice to complete orders and/or special projects to meet customer demands.

A team player that can relate to people at all levels of the organization and possesses excellent communication skills with high ethical standards and a positive professional image.

Must have the ability to handle multiple project deadlines in a confidential environment while working with frequent interruptions.

Visual ability to work accurately with detailed information and a computer screen
