Senior Electrical Component Engineer

Pay rate range - $100/hr. to $110/hr. on W2
RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a Senior Electrical Component Engineer, you will be responsible for Electronic Component research, Component Selection, and working with cross-functional teams to validate AVL component candidates.
This role will be responsible for setting up our internal Component Selection processes and stage gates to ensure the highest design conformity, system reliability, and best cost modeling. Provide Technical guidance and support to Engineering, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing as a Subject Matter Expert in Electrical Components Selection and Qualification.
Become familiar with technologies and satellite systems to apply to the component selection, development, qualification, and Parts Lifecycle Management
Review and approve all new Electrical Component Requests to assure they meet Internal Requirements, and own Electrical Component Lifecycle Management.
Conduct Research on equivalent components to expand AVL in collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain.
Drive necessary qualification efforts for additional AVL candidates.
Conduct Research, Summarizing and Influencing Vendor Component Roadmaps; Driving value-based Engineering Decisions by Highlighting trends in Technology
Manage Component Failure Analysis and Corrective Action with the Quality team and Suppliers.
Own the Electrical Bill of Material (BOM) and support Hardware engineering in the release process Ensuring End-to-End BOM Quality from CAD to Manufacturing.
Process Design Change Request, Change Orders and Deviations, working with all key stakeholders.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
5+ years of experience required in the aerospace or high-tech industry
7+ years of experience as an Electrical or Component Engineer
The ability to balance technical and business criteria requirements
Experience with PLM tools, MSOffice and other desktop tools
The ability to read a BOM and schematic
Experience in electrical component selection
Experience in failure analysis or Destructive Physical Analysis
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
7+ years of experience required in aerospace
Experience in Product Data Management (PDM) Systems
Program Management strengths include the ability to direct the work
Component and Sub-system Suppliers to Meet Overall Program Objectives
Attention to detail and ability to operate with minimal direction and across multiple teams
In-depth experience with Product Development Processes and a strong understanding of Manufacturing Processes
