The role involves litigating and leading all aspects of substantial cases, overseeing the work of a case team, and collaborating with various stakeholders to design and advance litigation strategies that align with the firm's mission and goals.
Duties:
Lead significant cases on behalf of public entity clients and supervise the litigation work of other team members.
Litigate and lead all aspects of significant cases, from investigation through filing, briefing, oral argument, pre-trial discovery, trials, and resolution.
Collaborate with attorneys, staff, technical experts, and others to design effective litigation strategies.
Manage all aspects of case progression, including client relations, conferring with opposing counsel, and providing guidance to the team.
Foster growth and development within the team and its practice.
Requirements:
Juris Doctorate degree and 7+ years of active litigation experience.
Exceptional legal writing, analytical, oral communication, and advocacy skills.
Extensive experience running complex affirmative litigation, including case investigation, pre-trial discovery, motion practice, trial, and settlement negotiation.
Willingness to travel when necessary.
10+ years of active litigation experience is preferred.
Experience with environmental tort litigation is desired.
