Position Overview:
Our client, a growing medical device manufacturing company, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Logistics to oversee logistics operations in Atlanta, GA. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a proven track record of optimizing supply chain processes, reducing costs, and improving efficiency. As the Director of Logistics, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our logistics strategy to support our client's continued growth and success.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement comprehensive logistics strategies to optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and improve customer satisfaction
Oversee all aspects of the logistics process, including transportation, warehousing, inventory management, and distribution
Lead and mentor a high-performing team of logistics professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement
Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless coordination and alignment of logistics activities with overall business objectives
Evaluate and select third-party logistics partners and vendors, negotiating contracts and service agreements to ensure optimal performance and cost-effectiveness
Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and measure the effectiveness of logistics operations, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed
Stay abreast of industry trends, regulations, and best practices, proactively identifying opportunities to enhance our logistics capabilities and mitigate risks
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
8+ years of progressive experience in logistics, supply chain management, or operations management, with at least 4 years in a leadership role
Proven track record of successfully managing complex logistics operations, driving process improvements, and delivering measurable results
Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques
Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization
Strategic mindset with the ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions to logistics challenges
Experience working in the medical device industry is a plus
