Hybrid position based in Dallas, TX – 3 days per week in office, 2 days per week remote

Periodic travel between U.S. locations as well as to locations in Mexico and Canada (passport required)

$120000 - $130000 per year with some flexibility based on skills and experience + bonus eligible

DO YOU ALIGN WITH THESE KEY QUALIFICATIONS? Degree in computer science or related field and equivalent combination of education, training and related experience required.

Minimum of 10 years of experience in the Information Technology field with experience in related position responsibilities.

Extensive systems management experience is required, including many of the specific technologies being employed by Microsoft Windows and Linux systems.

Proficient with management and maintenance of VMWare in an enterprise environment.

Extensive experience installing, operating, and maintaining test lab environments, supporting remote locations, and working on large technical projects.

Maintain a strong teamwork environment with co-workers and maintain positive and effective working relationships with numerous departments and employees.

Ability to maintain a high level of flexibility to learn and support new technologies and applications as required by business.

WHAT WILL YOUR SUCCESS LOOK LIKE? As a Senior Systems Engineer you will have extensive systems engineering experience and lead top-level implementation of new designs and technologies. You will work closely with database administrators, development experts, and network engineers to implement new solutions to address the client’s evolving performance and efficiency requirements. You will engineer mission-focused IT solutions incorporating existing infrastructure and new system technologies, and work with senior management to find the best strategies to meet requirements. WHAT WILL YOU DO? Support development and implementation of new processes within a large systems environment by advising on design concepts and implementation strategies

Coordinate with the system engineer team and development team to design effective solutions that meet requirements for functionality and integration with existing components

Research existing and emerging hardware and software technologies to determine capabilities and cost-benefit relationships, and develop ongoing computer systems solutions that meet performance and budgetary requirements

Provide and maintain documentation of systems architecture and guidelines while updating documentation as required

Provide IT system metrics and monitor for operational issues such as system outages, hardware failures, power, or network outages

Manage SAN configuration and maintenance across all sites. Provide recommendations to the management team on data storage requirements and security

Provide guidance and standards for server builds to Windows engineers and Linux engineers as required

Seek team input in determining system operation improvements and needs in relation to network, server, SAN, and security needs

Evaluate the efficiency of existing systems and develop plans for improvement based on findings.

The position may require travel to various business locations from time to time for the purpose of managing site equipment or meeting with business leaders. The client maintains sites outside of the US and a passport for international travel will be required
