About The Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President of Lending to join its fund management team and drive growth in impact investing. The successful candidate will be responsible for originating, structuring, underwriting, and closing a pipeline of low-risk, high-impact commercial loans, with a focus on supporting businesses, housing, education, and healthcare in underserved communities. This role involves deploying NMTC allocations in real estate and business operating loans, as well as driving the raising of private capital and preparing grant applications for various programs. The Vice President will also contribute to the development of business strategy, represent the organization with partners, and mentor junior team members. A deep passion for community and economic development, at least 10 years of experience in lending or capital markets, and a strong background in business development and relationship management are essential. The ideal candidate for the Vice President of Lending role at the company will have a proven track record in lending, credit risk management, or capital markets, with specific experience in NMTC deployment and other related government programs being a significant advantage. Strong credit, structuring, underwriting, and portfolio management skills are required, as is the ability to think creatively and have a growth mindset. The role demands a self-starter with the ability to form strong relationships and a commitment to making a positive difference in low-income communities. The candidate should be a strategic thinker, capable of contributing to the organization’s business strategy, and be prepared to engage in the continuous improvement of systems, processes, and impact measurement. A background in commercial real estate and commercial lending, as well as a history of representing an organization externally, are also highly valued.
