SUMMARY
The Donor Relations Officer has direct responsibility for promoting the Youth Ranches interests and for fund-raising efforts within a geographical region. In fulfilling the responsibilities of the position, the Donor Relations Officer is expected to work closely with other Youth Ranches Development professionals.
The Donor Relations Officer reports to the Director of Development or their designee and is fully expected to work within the goals, aims, operating procedures, and philosophy of the Youth Ranches.This position is exempt from overtime pay. Standard schedule isMonday through Friday but frequently evening and weekend work is required with time off during the week.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to travel frequently throughout a multi-county region
Able to manage multiple tasks and projects with excellent follow up and time managementskills
Comfortable speaking in front of large groups
Must be able to work productively in a fast paced environment with little direct supervision
Ability to take a donor prospect from interest to an ask for financial support
Ability to listen to a donor’s giving objectives and match with agency giving opportunities
Ability to mine the donor database for information and potential leads
Knowledge of Raisers Edge Donor Management System a plus
Knowledge of the Donor Giving Continuum a plus
Ability to work with others on the Team in a professional and productive manner
Ability to manage and be held responsible for productivity metrics including reporting to management
Advanced cold calling and persuasion skills with follow up ability on all solicitation activities
Intermediate level skills using MS Office software products (MS Word, Excel) PowerPoint and sound knowledge and thorough understanding of internet
Effective manor via phone, fax, and email to establish/maintain professional business relationships
Ability to clearly and concisely draft various types of written correspondence
Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, donors) via strong communication skills
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
A Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university in management, marketing, public relations, communications, or a related field and a minimum of five years job-related experience are required. An equivalent combination of education/experience may be accepted. At least three years of proven experience with the Youth Ranches may also be considered. Certified Financial Planner (CFP) or Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) designation is preferred. Must have a valid Florida Driver License and be able to maintain a safe driving record consistent with agency policy.
