Job Description:
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the President, the Vice President of Information Technology (VPIT) is responsible for providing leadership, management and supervision of the college's information technology (IT) infrastructure and enterprise computer applications that support the college's business processes, instruction and services. IT services are provided through four departments, which cover the areas of student computer support, user and network services, administrative information systems, and IT services. The planning, research and organizational development (PROD) office is also part of the IT unit and provides the college community with research, strategic planning and assessment services.
WORK PERFORMED
Develops and maintains a strategic unit plan to provide guidance, vision and accountability for the information technology resources and services.
Leads the daily operations of information technology services in support of administrative, student services, and academic resources.
Leads and manages IT unit plans, schedules, policies, projects and programs for the college's data processing, network communications, business operations, computer services, administrative information systems, institutional research, strategic planning, accreditation and assessment.
Responsible for risk management, resource allocation, project prioritization, and research and recommendation of new systems and software products and services.
Conducts research and makes recommendations on hardware and software purchases and negotiates with vendors on behalf of the college to ensure cost-effective purchasing.
Ensures maximum uptime and stability of the college's computer systems and networks.
Maintains security practices and technology to protect the college's technology systems and data to ensure business continuity.
Leads and oversees the help desk services, college and auxiliary websites, copier and print services and identity management system.
Leads and oversees the integrity and operation network infrastructure for data and telecommunications, enterprise servers for major college business functions and services, and data storage.
Leads and oversees services for staff and students that support computer technology, internet access, user applications, learning management systems and student accounts.
Leads and oversees instructional research, reporting system, accreditation, assessment, and strategic planning.
Leads and oversees research designs and data gathering and analysis, which are used for assessment and business decisions by the administration and college community.
Evaluates, assesses, and recommends project resources, monitors project progress and ensures resources are effectively utilized.
Serves as a member of the president's team and other college and community committees and boards.
Responsible for the supervision and evaluation of the unit staff.
Sets the priorities and framework for functional areas within IT to assure optimum operational and end user services.

Director, Student Computer Support
Director, User & Network Services
Executive Assistant
Executive Director of Information Technology Services
Executive Director of Planning, Research and Organizational Development
Requirements:
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
Possesses a graduate degree in a related discipline.
Demonstrates a strong and current knowledge of computing, telecommunications, networking, and security and information technology.
Has at least five years of significant management and supervisory experience in a related field of information technology.
Experience in higher education preferred.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Has a proven record of progressively responsible leadership and managerial experience in information technology.
Demonstrates the ability to lead, provide vision, and supervise a diverse staff of IT professionals and to provide leadership of a collaborative team to meet current and emerging technologies and security needs of the college.
Demonstrates the ability to work effectively within a large diverse organization of professionals and customers.
Has experience with managing complex technology systems and applications.
Has excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Has the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
Regular attendance is a requirement of this job.
Performs all duties while considering the impact of any actions on the college's sustainability initiatives in the areas of environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and economic prosperity.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Fast-paced, deadline-driven, office working environment. Concurrent management of numerous tasks, some with conflicting priorities. Flexibility required.
Additional Information:
Hours Per Week: 37.5
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday
Compensation: Commensurate with experience plus excellent health insurance, paid leave and tuition reimbursement
FLSA Status: Exempt
