What You'll Do

In this newly established Global Wealth Alternatives team, the Product Specialist - Alternative Investments will work closely with Senior Managing Director, Head of Global Wealth Alternatives! The team is responsible for establishing and leading efforts related to market research, product development, vehicle launch, marketing, and working with global distribution to drive growth in AUM from the retail, High Net Worth (HNW) and affluent investor sector through intermediaries.

Serve as a technical expert to the distribution team members through collaboration, including traveling to drive AUM growth and client service.

Establish and maintain relationships with external service providers and partners to assist in packaging, distributing, and servicing Principal’s offerings.

Collaborate with others in the research, design, development, validation, and execution of strategies linked to introducing Principal Asset Management’s differentiated private investment capabilities.

Creation and evaluation of strategic products and initiatives including financial modeling and risk factoring.

Who You Are

University degree with evidence of a strong background in finance, mathematics, economics, and business. An MBA is preferred

5 + years of institutional and private capital markets experience, with a history of success in the formation of investment vehicles and capital raises from the retail, HNW and/or institutional sector globally

Experience in corporate investing strategies including real estate

Experience in Alternative investment product structures attractive to private wealth channels globally

Skills That Will Help You Stand Out

Strong oral and written communication skills

Demonstrated strong troubleshooting skills

Travel required on a domestic and global basis

FINRA licensing, including the SIE or equivalent, series 7 and 63 (or 66) are required within 6 months of employment.

Salary Range Information

Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)

$153000 - $207000 / year

Time Off Program

Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.

Locations include Des Moines, New York City, Chicago as preferred locations. Seattle and Charlotte will also be considered.

Work Environments

This role offers the ability for in-office or hybrid (blending both office and remote work in a typical workweek) work arrangements. You’ll work with your leader to figure out which option may align best based on several factors
