Investment Performance Analyst

Welch & Forbes is a leading asset management firm in Boston offering customized investment and private wealth management services to high net worth individuals and foundations. This is an exciting, high-potential opportunity to be closely integrated with an experienced and results-oriented team of investment professionals. We are seeking an individual who can support the portfolio management team with a range of business activities, with an emphasis on investment performance measurement.
This individual will oversee the firm’s performance measurement and reporting (currently via Black Diamond) and also support Portfolio Managers in Investment Management activities including: client reporting, portfolio trade creation and execution, proposal generation, and other duties as required.
Responsibilities:
Performance Analyst
Ensures data integrity of performance software application and conducts monthly reconciliations, proofs, composite maintenance and enhancements and communicates investment performance results to managers.
Prepares summary reports for clients analyzing investment performance results, including attribution analysis.
Works with portfolio managers to prepare presentation materials for client meetings.
Converts complex data into easily understandable reports and charts that facilitate decision making.
Hands on support, knowledge, and utilization of a variety of investment system applications including: performance measurement system (Black Diamond), investment analytics and other related investment applications (FactSet and Bloomberg).
Assumes additional responsibilities as requested.
Investment Management Support :
Assist Portfolio Managers with client portfolio matters including;
· Environmental Social Governance (ESG) investment strategy (data analytics) support
· Portfolio trading support
· Financial planning
· Performance reporting analysis as needed or requested by PMs
· Ad hoc assignments as requested
Education & Training:
College degree (BA/BS) is required. CFA or progress towards a CFA is highly desirable.
Specialized Knowledge & Skills:
Must have an advanced understanding of performance measurement, analysis, and attribution.
Prefer familiarity with ESG concepts and SASB framework
Adept at utilizing Excel including ability to integrate with programming languages desired.
Familiarity with Python or similar programming language desired.
Demonstrates ability to organize time and meet deadlines.
Ability to understand and maintain a variety of automated investment system applications is essential.
Extremely service-oriented with meticulous attention to detail.
Strong work ethic
Work Experience:
Minimum 4+ years of professional experience in the investment field as an analyst including direct experience with performance analysis and reporting. Prefer direct relevant experience within high net worth market.
