Warehouse Manager

The incumbent will ensure the efficient and safe operation of the warehouse and its equipment. Warehouse Manager is also responsible for supervising a minimal staff and is responsible for their safety.
Relationships and Contacts
This person reports directly to the Director of Operations
Major Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with warehouse regulations; ensuring equipment meets regulatory standards.
Ensure staff work in a safe manner (following lockout/tag out, company policies and procedures)
Ensure compliance with applicable company, government, and industry regulations, code, and good operating practices.
Maintain both the AS/RS and Dry Storage warehouse areas and equipment to Irving standards. (high reliability and well-maintained professional appearance)
Drive continuous improvement of key performance indicators through effective communication of issues.
Develop standard operating procedures for start-up of new plant in warehouse; participate in commissioning and testing of ASRS, etc.
Responsible for the initial startup, operation, and integration with the company’s system.
Perform applicable duties in the absence of personnel within the Warehouse department.
Health and Safety Responsibilities Using or wearing the protective equipment designated by the accident prevention policy.
Follow safe work procedures.
Reporting any unsafe conditions or acts immediately.
Reporting all accidents or injuries immediately.
Food Safety Responsibilities Commitment to Quality System Policy
Enforce quality and food safety programs within the role.
Communication of food safety issues to related department and action within the role.
Active participation in food safety, food security, health, sanitation, hygiene, and quality program within the role
Qualifications and Abilities
Experience in an AS/RS warehouse is preferred.
Understanding of receiving and storing all dry goods for operations.
Working knowledge of automated distribution systems, departmental budgets, and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Applicable post-secondary education preferred.
Experience working in a food distribution/manufacturing environment.
5+ years in a management level role.
PC skills required, experience with Excel, Word, and Kronos is an asset.
