As Contract Management Lead you will play a key role in embedding high standards of Contract Management across Moat, providing guidance and training to contract managers in all areas of the business, delivered through an enabling and supportive approach. You will be a central point of contact within Moat for improvement of our contract management practices, collaborating with stakeholders, internal teams and our customers to ensure that contractual obligations are delivered, including social value and community benefit commitments.
Key areas of responsibility include the development, implementation, and compliance monitoring of our contract management toolkit, working with our Data and Technology teams to support the development of reporting systems and performance dashboards. You will ensure that up-to-date and accurate records are maintained, to enable easy compliance with legislative obligations – particularly under the Procurement Act 2023 - working to continuously improve our contract management abilities.
Additionally, you will support the monitoring of supplier performance and relationship management, which build trusted relationships and deliver a positive experience for Moat, our customers and our suppliers.
We are avid supporters of agile working, so you will split your time between working from home and our Dartford office.
Who are we?
Moat is one of the top 30 housing associations in England, with homes spread across London, Kent, Essex and Sussex. Our financial strength puts us in a good position to rise to challenges and plan for the future. We have just released our new corporate strategy, which involves being bold and ambitious, investing in new and existing homes, and putting safety and quality first, so it’s an exciting time to join us! We also deliver for and with our customers through our new Customer Engagement strategy, which will help us to deliver the requirements of the Social Housing White Paper.
We’re not your ‘standard’ housing association. Having been one of the pioneers of shared ownership in the early 1990s, leasehold now makes up more than a third of our overall stock. Since then, we have assisted thousands of people to become shared owners, many of whom now own their homes outright, but they still have a relationship with Moat as leaseholders and as part of the community on our developments.
We are also proud to announce, we have recently been awarded an accreditation from ‘The Sunday Times Best Places to Work 2024’ , based on our employee feedback.
Skills & experience we are looking for:
A member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (minimum Level 4) or equivalent professional qualification in Contract management.
Extensive experience of contract, commercial or account management.
Excellent working knowledge of contract law and contract management processes.
Demonstrable experience of successfully influencing change with positive outcomes.
Proficient at developing and implementing reporting and assessment tools for the monitoring of contract performance.
Working knowledge of public sector procurement practices and understanding of the transparency requirements of the Procurement Act 2023.
Strong commercial acumen, with experience in developing and delivering appropriate and workable commercial levers within contracts.
Skilled in delivering presentations and training at all levels.
An understanding of financial statements and supplier assessment methodologies.
Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with high level influencing skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
