Graphic Design Manager

Job Summary

The Graphic Design Manager will be responsible for the oversight and project execution of Gold Flora's creative presence to drive development of brand and marketing creative. This position will work directly with the CMO and cross functional team members to create engaging, robust, and brand-relevant assets across priority channels for Gold Flora's first-party brand and retail footprint. The Graphic Design Manager should have strong knowledge and experience designing for brand development, product design, and digital media while providing practical design solutions for Gold Flora's wide-ranging audience.

Pay Range: $80,000 - $100,000/yr

Duties and Responsibilities

Conceptualize, design and produce brand, product and marketing assets for various channels & platforms including but not limited to brand and product packaging, web presence, email campaigns, programmatic, social media, SMS, and blog imagery to be consistent with overall messaging and campaigns.

Strategize and execute all branding for key portfolio brands including packaging, website, digital content, social media, SWAG, instore presence, and events.

Responsible for the technical creation of packaging formats and merchandising solutions, designing from briefs, creating assembly diagrams and 3D rendering for primary, secondary & tertiary packaging.

Work closely with our manufacturing team, other manufacturers & Packaging Tech specialists to ensure accurate production of design.

Ability to translate creative across mediums, devices, and platforms.

Brainstorm creative and strategic solutions with relevant partners based on company goals.

Develop suitable graphics and layouts for retail and brand social media accounts.

Ability to create and execute GIF animations and motion graphics when necessary.

Develop conceptual features, wireframes, layout and production design for retail and brand website development.

Partner with brand marketing, operations, and retail marketing as well as product & planning teams on day-to-day creative updates and upcoming needs.

Develop and execute visual design standards with a consumer-first mentality.

Participate in initial planning of assets, presenting in creative review meetings to all relevant stakeholders and teams.

Create compelling, timely experiences that support Gold Flora's strategic needs.

Utilize marketing team planning calendar while working closely with Retail Marketing to execute weekly ecommerce emails across all retail locations.

Listening to internal stakeholders to understand needs and vision while fully executing against all requirements and delivering against deadlines.

Helping to adhere to internal style guidelines, maintaining the quality of Gold Flora's brand aesthetics and integrity translated across all projects.

Manage end-to-end projects (the full project lifecycle – from brief and design to production).

Work closely with Marketing Team and creative team to execute ad-hoc content creation based on short-term and long-term business needs, trending conversations, competitive activity, and retail requests.

Creatively seek out new products and maintain cutting edge industry knowledge and trends.

Complete responsibilities in a professional manner, always with Gold Flora's mission and goals in mind.

Miscellaneous

Logistics/coordination and administrative support as assigned.

Establishes clear and stretching goals, communicate key responsibilities, and actively utilize all performance, development, and career tools to their full potential.

Drive a positive customer and consumer experience while delivering sustainable results.

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Qualifications

College degree preferred but not required.

3 - 6 years of graphic design experience across brand, product and digital.

Robust creative visionary, proven professional in delivering innovative product and marketing experiences.

Experience across several packaging materials and processes within a Product or Brand led business: experience defining print specifications and finishes, as well as functional engineering components.

Understanding of design conventions and specs for digital.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.

Creative problem solver, with careful attention to accuracy and detail.

Self-motivated and energetic with a strong sense of urgency.

Organized and process-oriented with the ability to work independently and to manage multiple projects.

Resourceful and proactive with the ability to think a step ahead and anticipate needs.

Experience working in a fast-paced work environment and able to adapt to demands of competing work priorities with the ability to pivot calendars and strategies to ensure relevance.

Must be punctual, approachable, and enthusiastic.

Must be independent, problem-solving, and a hard-working team player.

Expert level knowledge in Adobe Creative Cloud - or preferred design platform - and other associated tools. Experience with HTML, video editing and motion graphics is a plus.

Knowledge of UX and UI best practices, tools and principles.

Familiarity and excitement for cannabis and the cannabis industry is a plus but not required.

Portfolio available online that showcases visual and technical solutions across multiple design verticals.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, filing cabinets and may work in proximity with customers and staff.

Must be able to travel to other office locations on occasion.

Job Requirements

Work revolves around objectives, projects, and priorities, not hours; must be able to work weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime as needed.

Must be able to stand, walk, lift, sit, and bend for a majority of their work schedule.

Must be able to travel to other office locations.

Ability to use a computer and calculator for 8 hours or more.

Required to have a valid driver's license with acceptable driving history. Must have own transportation.

Must be 21 years of age or older.

Must comply with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry.

Selected candidates will be required to complete a post offer, pre-employment background check with the local law enforcement or city Police Department.
