JOB DESCRIPTION & RESPONSIBILITIES:
This role will be managing +1 Direct report or more.
The AVP, Product Marketing plays an important strategic role withing the skin better science US Marketing team. This role will liaise closely with Digital Marketing, Professional Channel Marketing lead, sales team, SSR team, concierge, operations, PR agency, education and training, and outside vendors in support of product-related programs and launches to drive the success of our US business.The ideal candidate will possess a high level of energy, an entrepreneurial spirit, ability to operate in a complex environment and demonstrated problem-solving abilities.Existing skincare knowledge will ensure success. Interest in professional skincare and/or aesthetics market, a plus. This position will report directly to the skin better Chief Marketing Officer.
Responsibilities :
Business Management
Establish product marketing strategy in alignment with brand objectives and oversee implementation of programs and promotions.
Analyze product sales, margin and marketing spend, and design strategy to optimize the product marketing mix to achieve US brand financial objectives.
Lead B2B unit sales and promotional product forecasting process and interface with eCom and Integrated Brand Marketing to develop annual plans and consolidated forecasts.
Forecast and work with demand planning to identify business risks and opportunities related to product.
Determine resource allocations (financial and people) to optimize overall portfolio performance, while anticipating risks to product/segment performance and ensuring that contingency plans are developed to manage through them nationally.
Work closely with DMI to align on product planning and objectives and manage US-based programs and product launches.
Manage and lead multiple cross-functional teams to execute product and category initiatives and implement plans. The Product Marketing lead will ensure the product strategy is communicated, understood, and implemented by all cross-functional groups.
Develop and support the strategic brand plans, leveraging current and future consumer & customer trends as well as in-depth knowledge of competitive landscape to build brand equity via product strategy.
Promotions and Programs
Identify new marketing opportunities via promotions and programs through market and competitive analysis.
Partner with eCom and B2B channel leads to develop strategic product promotions and programs.
Drive the timely execution of all promotional support materials.
Lead cross-functional collaboration on product and promotion strategy with training, medical relations, business development, digital and PR/social.
New Product Launches
Develop and execute new product launch strategies and direct the tactical delivery through cross-functional colleagues and junior Marketing staff.
Lead product messaging and ensure consistent application across communication channels.
Develop strategy and marketing plans for category and pillar products to drive existing business.
Work closely with Sales and Education Teams to design launch and education plans for product launches, or for existing products that require refinement or adjustment based on market shifts or competitive threats.
Sales Support
Develop close relationships with sales team and B2B Marketing leads to better understand their needs, drivers of success within the channel.
Anticipate business and product innovation trends and incorporate into program planning.
Play active role in the Marketing Committee to ensure strong alignment and communication between sales and marketing.
Supervise delivery of promotional materials, product information, scientific abstracts, and other updated sales materials to the sales team.
Leadership:
Model leadership behavior not only for the Product Marketing team, but also the brand, division and cross-functional partners/organizations
Manage, coach and develop junior marketing staff as well as indirect reports and cross-functional peers to deliver brand objectives while clearly communicating standards of performance.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Business or related field.
7-10+ years of progressive beauty, healthcare, skincare or aesthetics-related marketing/brand management experience. Marketing experience to include brand positioning, strategy development, consumer insight generation, direct to consumer advertising, consumer promotion and integrated marketing communications development. A deep understanding of customer centricity and omni-channel activations are a must, medical marketing experience a plus, but appreciation of and sensitivity to its importance are a requirement.
Demonstrated experience developing product claims from consumer and/or clinical data a must.
Marketing experience in the digital world, (i.e., social media, e-commerce, analytics, on-line) highly preferred.
Demonstrated experience working with a sales force or B2B customer, which contributed to profitable brand growth.
Demonstrated experience developing strategic agency partnerships which contributed to long-term brand health.
Demonstrated experience in providing marketing thought leadership-taking consumer insight and using it to drive thinking and strategic decisions.
Solid financial acumen, budget management experience and a strong ability to utilize judgment and solid thinking ability to analyze complex issues and recommend clear direction within the big picture needs of the brand
Excellent communication skills with ability to present effectively, foster open communication, listening effectively to others and prepare effective written communications and presentations.
Strong leadership skills and a strong ability to cultivate good relationships/networks and actively fostering team work across the division, US brand and DMI (global marketing)
Ability to manage the performance and develop the appropriate skills of others, which should include encouraging diversity of thinking while motivating and coaching others.
Ability to plan for the short-term and long-term, and manage executions within a strategic framework.
Ability to self-manage and self-motivate. Act with integrity and demonstrate entrepreneurial pursuits.
Demonstrated experience in executing and delivering brand leadership in a similar brand management role with P&L accountability.
Salary Range: 150k-210k + bonus
