We have an excellent opportunity for a Senior Development Director in Tulsa, OK. This is a hybrid position working three days from the office and two days from home, with regular travel in the Tulsa area. We have a fast-paced sales type of environment with the main responsibility of driving revenue in support of our mission. This will include solicitation of large dollars and multi-year gifts from individuals and corporations as well as executive level volunteer recruitment. As a key member of the Tulsa development team, this role drives revenue for our Heart Challenge fundraising campaign. The campaign includes our Signature Tulsa Heart Walk event. This role has one direct report.

We offer a base salary with the potential to earn an incentive up to 25% of your base pay. The potential incentive is based on achieving certain revenue targets.

Responsibilities

The main accountability of the Senior Development Director is to secure revenue for the life-saving mission of the American Heart Association, being held accountable for an overall fundraising goal and the execution of high-quality campaigns in accordance with the Association standards.

Develop and implement a plan of revenue growth through key fundraising events, strategic market partnerships and philanthropic donors.

Generate revenue with corporate sponsors and individual donors through cultivation, stewardship, renewal, and deepening engagement to retain and upgrade their financial commitment.

Develop relationships with volunteers, sponsors, and key corporate/community leaders to successfully drive participation in Heart Challenge events. Collaborate with internal partners in the market, region, and national center, to forge donor relationships.

Identify, recruit, and lead executive volunteer leadership, including implementing a year-round cultivation plan.

Build and maintain an ongoing pipeline of prospective high-level corporate sponsors, individual donors, and volunteer leadership to advance our mission.

Lead peer-to-peer fundraising in participating Heart Challenge companies to achieve revenue goals.

Recruit and lead corporate fundraising team participation in Heart Walk and Hard Hats for Heart campaigns and motivate team to fundraise.

Lead donor engagement experiences and events.

Qualifications

5 years of relevant experience in fundraising, sales, or equivalent experience.

1 year of direct staff managerial experience, preferably with a sales or fundraising team .

University/College degree or equivalent experience preferred.

Ability in cultivating major donors, securing large corporate sponsorships (six figures), through participating in and leading top-level sponsorship asks.

Experience and ability to accomplish results through strong high-level, C-suite volunteer recruitment and management, with experience in meeting sales/fundraising goals.

Have a collaborative approach to working with other internal partners, such as with Heart Ball, Go Red for Women, Health Strategies and Youth Market Teams to help drive specific American Heart Association cause initiatives in defined markets.

Results driven with the ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects.

Knowledge of special event fundraising tactics is crucial.

Excellent organization, communication, negotiation, and social skills.

Demonstrated skills in written and verbal communication, including large and small group presentations, group facilitation and training.

Ability to read, comprehend and analyze number goals, as well as fundraising reports. Skill in use of spreadsheet/database analysis.

Knowledge of corporate and community networks.

Willing and able to travel within the Tulsa market to engage C-suite corporate executives and volunteers to accomplish goals approximately 75% of the time.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.

Ability to lift and/or move large objects (such as boxes) with the expectation that heavier items would be broken down into smaller components or requesting additional assistance may be required before lifting and/or moving.
