Employee Relations Consultant

Overview:
The Employee Relations Consultant is responsible for conducting civility recommendations under the guidance of the Talent Relations Director and providing recommendations to leadership. This person will also be involved in research and reporting as needed, aiding in compliance matters, and aiding in the consistent administration and training on employment law matters.

Responsibilities:
Conduct civility investigations and provide recommendations to leadership to determine the most appropriate course of action for resolution of workplace matters following analysis of the issues including identification and assessment of risks of alternate courses of action.
Advises both employees and management regarding Employee Relations policies procedures, and Documentation
Researches, identifies, and analyzes specific Employee Relations concerns and makes appropriate recommendations to resolve Employee Relations matters.
Creates reports and conducts internal audits as they pertain to Employee Relations data and processes
Review Internal Website for Employee Relations policies and ensures website information is up-to date
Conduct training for leadership and staff on civility and other employment law matters
Discuss confidential information with leadership, legal, and the Talent Consulting Team to ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, rules, and agency polices
Advise on the uniform and consistent administration and interpretation of employment policies and procedures
Provide advice, coaching and ongoing training on the Civility Policy and process framework
Partner with Legal, Talent Consultants and Talent Acquisition on appointed projects
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree
5 years work experience
PHR & SPHR License
Demonstrated knowledge and application of Title VII, ADA, FMLA, ADEA, STAA, harassment & retaliation, workers compensation statutes in workplace setting
Written communication skills in the development of reports, guidelines, and written summaries
Ability to consult with all levels of staff using a multi-HR-faceted approach to problem solving
Ability to listen with patience and respond to high level, controversial issues utilizing good judgement
Ability to use tact and diplomacy in resolving sensitive issues
Preferred Qualifications:
