Education Sales Manager, Sacramento

Sacramento, CA, United States

Education Sales Manager, Sacramento sacramento community full-time At Stile, we create world-class resources for science teachers (we call them superheroes, because they are). After writing our first lesson just eight years ago, today Stiles web-based teaching and learning resources are used every single day by over 100,000 students and 8,000 teachers around the world.

To get a bit of a feel for what we do, .

Were looking for a passionate current or former science teacher in the Greater Sacramento Metropolitan area to join our US team as an **Education Sales Manager**. In this role you will be spending most of your time visiting schools to speak with science teachers about how they can improve their teaching and learning practice using Stile. Youll join classrooms, run presentations, and build relationships with science teachers right around Sacramento and perhaps even further afield.

Yes, this is a sales role, but if youve never thought of yourself in sales we urge you not to dismiss this unique opportunity. We have re-imagined sales at Stile. It's fun, it's light, and our customers love our product. Sales experience is not a requirement we will teach you everything you need to know.

Imagine using your classroom experience and pedagogical expertise to consult with teachers, department chairs, district and school leaders, genuinely improving their lives and enhancing their students learning. Imagine delivering professional development to teachers and hosting events within the California STEM community. Imagine strategizing to solve the problems uniquely relevant to science teachers in California and help them navigate teaching the NGSS using Stile. Imagine multiplying your impact instead of teaching a few classes, youll be supporting tens of thousands of students and their educators.

This is an incredible opportunity to be part of the initial team of something big, while backed by the security of an established organization thats committed to its employees and global STEM teaching and learning.

most resonates with you or which you disagree with and why.

Specifically, you'll be amongst the first of our US based team which is currently made up of one Senior Executive and initially two Education Sales Managers. We have ambitious plans to build a much bigger team made up of more sales managers, customer success and support personnel, so loads of opportunities for the right candidates. Imagine a company where everyone genuinely cares about, and is working towards, improving scientific literacy amongst our young citizens. We hold ourselves, and each other, to a high standard, and love what we do.

* Youll be extremely well supported. We value our people, and its important to us that theyre happy. We offer generous benefits and take care of our employees. We have strong management and feedback frameworks to ensure were successful.

* Youll be working on something that really matters. In partnership with teachers, were coaching students to become problem solvers and critical thinkers.

* Youll build an incredible network of teachers, district and school leaders and STEM professionals across the US.

* Flexibility. We expect that you work hard, but you do so from home and youre the master of your own schedule.

* A Mac laptop, phone, reimbursement of travel and whatever else you need to be productive remotely.

* Generous PTO, 100% of health, vision and dental insurance and employer contributions to 401(k).

**How youll spend your time**

**School visits and relationship building**

The majority of your time will be spent on the road, visiting schools and districts. Mostly these schools will be in metro based Sacramento, but youll occasionally find yourself making trips to other parts of the West coast and potentially other places in the US.

These school and district visits mostly occur as a school moves through or is considering a trial/pilot of Stile. To begin with, youll visit schools and districts for scheduled introductory conversations that you have set up with science department chairs, science curriculum specialists or other school or district leaders. From there, youll run Professional Development for the science department, ensuring theyre confident using Stile in class. You might drop into a science classroom with students using Stile and find yourself teaching a class to model best practice teaching with Stile and through any of these visits, youre looking to form strong relationships with teachers and leadership.

Ask anyone in our sales team; this is the best part of this role. Stile, our resources and our service, has an incredible reputation, and its such a fantastic opportunity to use your passion and expertise in a way that truly improves the quality of science teaching and learning.

**Attending/hosting community events**

Building relationships with those in the local STEM community is key to being successful in this role. For this reason, when we can again, youll be in regular attendance of local events and conferences. Once you have established a network, youll even find yourself hosting events to unite leaders within the community to share ideas.

**Professional Development**

Were life-long learners at Stile, so were always looking to improve our practice. Youll frequently find yourself reading up on the latest negotiation strategies, or learning about the latest trends in education technology. You can also expect to spend time peer-reviewing work with your colleagues, ensuring were always delivering the highest quality service possible. When travel allows, the US team will come together in person for training and planning.

**Booking meetings and administrative work**

If you dont have sales experience, this might be the daunting bit. There will be revenue targets and other goals, which to meet, you'll need to be proactive. This said, we will be sure to teach you everything you need to know.

You have the confidence to follow up on in-bound leads from our marketing and also to reach out to district and school leaders and teachers yourself via email or phone to see if theyre open to meeting with you for an introductory meeting. Youll also be supported by your manager to design individualized outreach to engage schools in your area.

Once youre working with a school, facilitating a trial is great fun. Most of this process sits in the school visits category, but theres additional responsibilities like recording notes in Salesforce, contacting teachers to check if they would like further support or chasing up signed subscription agreements.

**A bit more about you**

* Whilst its not a deal-breaker, youre a current or former middle or high school science teacher with at least 3 years classroom teaching experience and/or worked closely in educational sales or account management with a K-12 science digital resource.

* Youre knowledgeable about science education and youre across the latest trends in education technology, pedagogy and NGSS. Importantly, you share our passion for improving science education in the US, and genuinely want to help ensure our young people leave school ready to tackle tomorrows problems.

* You are likeable and empathetic. A strong communicator that can build positive relationships and really put yourself in someone elses shoes; understanding their problems and working to help fix them.

* Youre eager to learn. Super eager. You soak up feedback, incorporate it, and are constantly d
