Learning & Development Experience Specialist

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Learning & Development Experience Specialist is responsible for understanding business needs to design creative learning solutions that have meaningful impact. This role works as part of a larger team, including HR partners and business leaders across the organization and is responsible for the conceptualization and execution of a variety of learning experiences from fundamental performance support tools to large-scale, transformation efforts that drive business results. Think of yourself as someone who will create and maintain a positive and professional learning environment in the organization.
Our team is seeking an innovative specialist who is passionate about solving a variety of problems through the development of learning solutions and experiences, while also understanding that not every business problem is a training problem and is curious to understand the root cause to identify the right solution.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Understand MCCU’s business strategy & how learning enables our success.
Build long term relationships to influence partners and team members. Support the discovery of knowledge and skill gaps using a variety of approaches with partners and employees such as facilitating virtual focus group sessions, conducting interviews and observations, and analyzing performance data to clearly define needs and outcomes.
Design and develop employee-centered learning experiences and solutions by applying adult learning principles, design thinking and human-centered design approaches. Learning solutions may span multiple modalities including ILT, VILT, self-paced courses, simulations, gamifications, experiential learning, microlearning, videos, interactive digital learning modules, job aids, facilitator guides, case studies, infographics, etc.
Ensure requests, questions, and problems are courteously and professionally resolved. Ensure communications are efficient and effective.
Work closely with the team to coordinate new employee onboarding and training needs. Ability to welcome, engage and make a connection with each incoming group of learners.
Offer flexible training arrangements to accommodate branch staffing particularly during new employee training.
Deliver learning solutions across a variety of topics and subject matters. Conduct training sessions to ensure MCCU employees are effective in their respective positions in accordance with established programs and procedures. (Examples of courses include Teller, Solution Center, New Accounts, Loans, and IRA, etc.)
Establish credibility with the audience by knowing the content area, providing relevant examples, and linking the material to the audience’s job experiences and challenges.
Deliver on the job training programs and in-service activities as necessary.
Identify ways to foster collaborative learning environments and grow the organization’s learning presence.
Select appropriate assessment methods and perform quality checks to ensure learning experience standards are met.
Maintain eLearning and LMS program including annual Compliance training curriculum.
Complete required reports, records, and other documentation. Attend and participate in meetings and committees as required to measure, evaluate, and report the effectiveness, impact, and ROI of learning solutions and ensure they meet organizational objectives.
Evaluates training programs and services. Provide recommendation and suggestions for improvement based on interactions with learners.
Stay current on learning and development trends to increase effectiveness of programs and retention of knowledge.
Amend and revise programs as necessary for them to adapt to the changes occurring in the work environment.
Manage relationships with vendors and third parties as required.
Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS: A bachelor’s degree, or achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry. Experience as a substitution for a degree may be considered.
Three to five years of similar or related experience, including facilitating and presenting to groups of varying sizes and skill levels and training design.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience building learning solutions in a corporate environment. Financial industry experience preferred.
Experience developing learning solutions using industry standard eLearning development tools including, but not limited to Articulate 360, Storyline and Rise 360.
Association for Talent Development (ATD) certification, Myers Briggs, or DISC certification preferred.
Must have a passion for employee engagement, development, and career success.
SKILLS / ABILITIES: Knowledge of banking/credit union industry with a strong focus on member experience. Must be focused on providing an outstanding Member-Centric experience to both internal and external members.
Strong attention to detail, organizational and planning skills. Work well under pressure and ability to complete multiple projects with tight deadlines.
Excellent writing and editing skills with the ability to tell compelling stories through narratives, visuals, and metaphors to explain complex concepts to beginner level employees.
Ability to deliver routine material in an engaging manner. Energetic, enthusiastic, and creative-can think outside the box with different ways to motivate and engage an audience.
Proactive approach to problem resolution and assisting others.
High degree of confidentiality, professionalism, and business ethics.
Strong commitment to quality, organization, and attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
