The Behavioral Health, Program Director (PPOC) :
+ Directs the PPOC BHIP ensuring overall program effectiveness, focusing on the implementation of the BHIP strategy developed in collaboration with the PPOC CMO, Senior Director QPS, and Assoc Med Director BH, with input from the Behavioral Health Integration Managers (BHIMs).
+ In partnership with the Assoc Med Director BH and with the oversight of the CMO is responsible for the oversight of the BH educational offerings to PPOC members and practice BH clinicians, including learning communities.
+ Provides guidance and leadership to the BHIMs in the implementation of the BHIP strategy while continually assessing data-based program performance and improving data-based outcomes.
+ Manages day-to-day operational issues, including staffing levels, assignments, and deployment. May assist staff in problem solving highly complex situations involving patients and/or practice staff. Informs the Senior Director QPS of operational concerns and needs.
+ Oversees the recruitment, hiring, credentialing, and onboarding of practice based BH clinicians in collaboration with the BHIMs and others as appropriate.
+ Establishes and maintains a regularly scheduled interdisciplinary meeting and consistent communication channels to identify and continually improve the program quality and outcome metrics.
+ Utilizing continuous quality improvement methodologies, evaluates and identifies opportunities to enhance BHIP, focusing on efforts to move from current state to an improved sustainable future state. Responsible for including evidence-based medicine (EBM) in the implementation and ongoing improvement of BH processes.
+ Working with the team to continuously evolve the program including mechanisms for ongoing program evaluation.
+ Works collaboratively with PPOC Practice Consultants to achieve PPOC quality metrics.
+ Ensures the development of strong working relationships with caregivers and other resources across the health care system including pediatric primary care providers and their teams, pediatric sub-specialty providers, hospital-based BH providers, hospital-based departments, community BH providers, and state-level BH policymakers.
+ Follows up with providers as needed to address concerns and opportunities for improvement.
+ Identifies organizational needs and concerns in payer-provider contracts and contributes to related negotiations; ensures compliance with appropriate BH billing practices.
+ Manages escalated response to provider/patient/family concerns and/or complaints.
+ Reviews and makes recommendations for proposed budgets for the BHIP program operations.
+ Provides staff educational opportunities based on the needs of the group.
+ Represents the PPOC and contributes expertise externally, on advisory boards, working groups, and task forces, with local and national associations, professional organizations, government agencies, and academic institutions.
+ Leads collaboration with Epic team to build and develop the BH aspects of the EHR build, and the ongoing work of optimizing and refining the same.
+ Leads collaboration and integration with other PPOC programs and program leaders, to keep BHIP connected to the rest of the organizations work, and in meeting strategic objectives.
+ Contributes to academic publications and presentations.
In order to qualify you must have:
+ Doctoral degree in Psychology, Licensed in Massachusetts
+ Minimum of 10 years’ experience in clinical psychology and 5 years’ experience in pediatric integrated behavioral health services.
+ Knowledge of evidence-based practices in behavioral health and expertise in program development and implementation.
+ Proven leadership skills with experience in managing teams and driving program goals.
+ Demonstrated expertise in continuous quality improvement methodologies
