An important function within the AWS organization is Platform Business Development, which is a global function centered around market development for new web services and market expansion for existing web services.

AWS Worldwide Specialist Organization (WWSO) is seeking an accomplished senior sales and Go-To-Market (GTM) leader deeply familiar with enterprise application sales. This leader will play a critical role on the leadership team to shape and drive the global GTM for our Business Applications business, which includes Customer Experience, Supply Chain, Adtech, End User Computing, and Communication Services businesses.

This leader will have a broad role - part market maker, part operator, and part general manager - and will build a strategy focused on outcome-based selling, winning new customer segments and growing existing customer segments for the long term. The role will require working with the overall ecosystem across AWS service teams and partners to help secure lighthouse customers, drive top-line revenue for AWS services, and develop strategic partnerships. This is an exciting opportunity to drive the GTM definition and execution of AWS's strategy for the Business Applications business.

Key job responsibilities

• Interacting at the CxO/VP level, to develop pipeline, secure lighthouse customers, drive top-line revenue, and explore strategic partnerships.

• Hiring, developing, and managing a high-performing team of sales and GTM experts.

• Working closely with the global Sales, Partner, Product Management and Professional Services teams to identify and prioritize areas of focus and opportunity, as well as drive adoption and market penetration within global markets.

• Working closely with product teams to help them evolve the products and address issues, concerns, and requests from the field.

• Building mechanisms to enable the field organization to drive the day-to-day interactions that identify prospects for long-term business opportunities.

• Incubating new AWS services, scaling existing AWS services, delivering workload/solution specific domain expertise to the broader field organization, and developing repeatable, packaged solutions to solve customer challenges.

• Analyzing and determining key customer insights from business drivers, market trends, customer feedback, and operating metrics.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• 15+ years of relevant P&L management, sales/sales management & business development in infrastructure or cloud technology.

• Global Experience, proven people management and experience leading large, diverse teams.

• Established track record of building rapport with customer executives (e.g., CEO, COO, CIO, CTO, CMO), building close relationships, and closing large revenue accounts.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $232,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $345,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
