Clinical Support RN Educator

The Clinical Support Resource RN supports high quality, patient-centered care by providing feedback, guidance, and mentoring to new graduate nurses and/or nurses that are transitioning to NCH. The Resource Nurse supports all clinical med/surg/telemetry units and provides coverage at both main hospital locations Baker & North Naples. This role guides and educates on the hospital's standard of nursing practice and policies to ensure compliance with all accrediting and regulatory agency requirements and is responsible for identifying nursing educational needs.
Acts as a resource for new nurses, escalating concerns about nursing skills, patient care, and processes to leadership as appropriate.
Employs patient teaching to promote health and safety.
Contributes to improving nurse satisfaction/engagement by serving as a role model and mentor, coaching staff in effective communication, teamwork, and patient care.
Attends rapid responses and codes to provide feedback, education, and coaching both before, during, and after the event as indicated.
Practices ethically and attains knowledge that reflects current nursing practice.
Contributes to quality nursing practice by supporting council decisions and participating in shared decision-making.
Communicates effectively in all areas of practice.
Utilizes appropriate resources to plan and provide nursing services that are safe, effective, and financially responsible.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of acute care or nurse educator experience.
BSN strongly preferred.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
Current RN license in the State of Florida.
