About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President-Controller to join their mission-driven team. The successful candidate will have primary responsibility for managing the organization's accounting department, overseeing all financial activities, and ensuring compliance with accounting and regulatory standards. This role involves directing the accounting for various functions, maintaining financial policies and procedures, and preparing financial reports for audits, tax compliance, and regulatory agencies. The Vice President-Controller will also be instrumental in mentoring the accounting team, leading audit and tax preparation, and supporting the CFO in engaging with the Board on financial matters.Candidates for the Vice President-Controller position at the company should have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting, with at least 10 years' of progressive accounting experience. A CPA certification is preferred, as is experience in the affordable housing or real estate industry. The role requires strong leadership, management, and communication skills, as well as a commitment to the company's mission and values. The successful candidate will be adept at financial management, have advanced knowledge of accounting software, and be able to effectively interact with all levels of the organization. Responsibilities also include supervising the accounting team, developing and implementing training programs, and maintaining a positive work environment.
