The Role

We're looking for a Director of SEO & Analytics to oversee and enhance the search engine optimization and analytics functions for our mega-scale e-commerce marketplace!

Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, this role is critical for optimizing site architecture, improving search visibility and leveraging data to drive strategic decisions. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with extensive experience in technical SEO for large-scale websites or marketplaces, as well as profound expertise in advanced analytics tools and techniques.

While our office is located in San Francisco, this position can be remote in CA, OR, CO or WA.

Key Accountabilities:

Develop and implement a comprehensive SEO strategy focused on technical optimization to enhance organic search rankings and drive traffic to an ultra-large e-commerce site.

Lead the analytics team in utilizing tools such as Segment and Google Tag Manager to collect and manage data efficiently, including the implementation of server-side tracking.

Oversee the transition to and optimization of Google Analytics 4 (GA4), ensuring full utilization of its features for improved data analysis and decision-making.

Utilize Big Query to build and maintain sophisticated reporting dashboards that provide actionable insights into customer behavior, site performance, and marketing effectiveness.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, IT, and product development to ensure SEO and analytics insights inform business strategies and website enhancements.

Stay abreast of the latest trends and changes in SEO and analytics, continually refining strategies and technologies to maintain competitive advantage.

Manage, mentor, and expand the SEO and analytics team to support the growth and complexity of the business.

What You'll Bring: Proven track record with 5+ years of experience in technical SEO for large-scale websites or marketplaces.

5+ years of experience in advanced analytics, including expertise with tools such as Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Segment, Google Tag Manager, and Big Query.

Demonstrated success in developing and implementing comprehensive SEO strategies that significantly improve organic search rankings and drive traffic.

Hands-on experience with server-side tracking and data collection management.

Strong ability to build and maintain reporting dashboards in Big Query that provide actionable business insights.

Excellent analytical skills with a deep understanding of customer behavior, site performance, and marketing effectiveness.

Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate SEO and analytics insights into broader business strategies and website enhancements.

Up-to-date knowledge of the latest trends and best practices in SEO and analytics..

Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly present complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Data Science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.

We offer competitive compensation because we want to hire the best people and reward them for their contributions to our mission. We pay all employees relative to the San Francisco City market, regardless of their location. In pursuit of pay equity and fairness, the starting annual base salary for this position is anticipated to be $160k - $175k. The final offer may be determined by a number of non discriminatory factors, including experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. All employees may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as stock-based compensation, which are awarded to employees annually, subject to board discretion.
