POSITION SUMMARY:
The American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) is a global membership association for occupational safety and health professionals. We are seeking a creative and results-driven Marketing Manager who is passionate about leveraging contemporary marketing strategies to promote events, engage attendees, and elevate our organization's brand presence within the industry. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, attention to detail, and excellent verbal and written communication skills. This individual will confidently manage multiple long-range projects, build relationships with cross-functional teams and vendors, and bring new concepts to drive the brand and our events forward.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Duties include but are not limited to:
Develop comprehensive and measurable marketing plans for association events, incorporating both digital and traditional marketing channels and tactics, to meet event revenue goals and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Utilize audience and market data and performance metrics to evaluate marketing campaign effectiveness and identify data-driven recommendations for optimization.
Work cross-functionally with event planning, social media, web development and sales teams to ensure alignment with marketing objectives.
Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation in event marketing strategies.
Provide logistical support during events, including on-site coordination of photography, marketing materials, environmental signage, and promotional activities.
Work collaboratively with external vendors, including exhibitor sales, event management, and stage production.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications or related field
At least 5+ years of direct marketing experience, events/tradeshow/experiential preferred
Strong copywriting and content creation skills, with the ability to craft engaging messaging tailored to different audience segments
Creative thinker with a passion for developing innovative brand experiences that resonate with target audiences
Understanding of Adobe Creative Suite - InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop
Strong working knowledge of email marketing and social media best practices
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office 365
Well-organized, self-directed and process/detail oriented. Project management skills are essential. Familiarity with project management tools such as Trello or Slack preferred
Excellent attention to detail and dedication to accuracy in work
Experience working in a collaborative team environment with multiple stakeholders
Experience working directly with web developers and email implementation teams to execute campaigns
Apply strong written and verbal communication skills to clearly explain project concepts, requirements and expectations to team members, vendors and project stakeholders
Knowledge of association management principles and familiarity with the needs and preferences of industry professionals is a plus

Full-time position with the ability to work M-F during normal business hours. May be expected to occasionally work outside of normal business hours
Must be able to travel to conferences and/or site visits at least 2x/annually
