Job Description The Program Director will play a critical role in advancing our project portfolio through management of our development programs. They will be a key partner working with both the cross-functional core asset team and medicine development team, ensuring that programs are appropriately resourced, conducted efficiently, completed within agreed timelines and budgets, and are in accordance with the company objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

R&D program manager in both Core Asset Team and Medicine Development Team providing cross-functional operational leadership

Coordinates team interactions; drives effective team function including ensuring team meetings have structure and purpose; documents clear decisions/actions and communicates to team members and relevant stakeholders; holds team members accountable for functional delivery of plans

Facilitates the setting and tracking of R&D program objectives; monitors progress against approved project plans (ensure on time and on budget)

High quality project planning and execution of high complexity projects involving cross-functional leadership

Works with Core Asset Team throughout entire life cycle (both prior to launch and after launch) to translate strategy into execution

Works with Medicine Development Team to translate strategy into robust development plan of key cross-functional program-related activities and milestones with clear go/no go decision points

Risk Management –identifying and communicating issues and risks. Provides mitigation plans to manage risks

Responsible for R&D project budget and long term projections – budget planning and tracking

Anticipates and manages project resource requirements; highlights resource gaps and works to ensure they are addressed

Ensures source systems reflect the current project plan assumptions to enable integrated planning across the organisation (assumptions in system, ensures monthly project status reports are correct, deviations quickly identified)

Leads the preparation for governance and management presentations for R&D in close collaboration with the Core Asset Team Leader

Manages communication planning and execution where appropriate

Where appropriate works with strategic partners, alliances and supports BD activities

Qualifications Five years experience in pharmaceutical industry, preferably in medicine/ clinical development

Experience in working with cross-functional teams in the pharmaceutical industry, preferably in a global setting

Proven track record in project management in complex environments

Experience in project planning, administration and coordination of complex tasks preferably within R&D in the pharmaceutical industry

Demonstrated success in leading projects effectively within matrix environments in the drug development / pharmaceutical industry

Experience in preparing communication and leading meetings with senior stakeholders and management

Professional proficiency in English
