Job Description and Requirements
Under direction, the IT Platform Services Engineer is responsible for Azure administration, planning, and development; Engineer system solutions for line of business projects or IT operational projects; Overall responsibility for monitoring, maintaining and upgrading the server environment and user application software; assists with design and integration procedures of server environment; applies automation solutions where appropriate; responds to after-hour calls; and performs related duties as required.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Designs, implements, and maintains enterprise server configuration management and change control, with a primary focus on Azure environments and a secondary focus on on-premises infrastructure.
Manages Azure services including networking, storage solutions, AI implementations, and general resource management across multiple subscriptions.
Utilizes Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) and Intune for modern device and server management.
Oversees transition and maintenance of messaging services with Microsoft Teams, integrating with Azure and Microsoft 365 services.
Maintains and scales web apps and virtual machines within Azure, utilizing Azure Databricks for data analytics solutions.
Plans and upgrades network infrastructure to support evolving business needs, focusing on Azure networking capabilities while also managing on-premises network changes.
Conducts capacity planning and performance analysis of Azure storage and computing resources, along with on-premises storage and server infrastructure.
Ensures preparation and maintenance of disaster recovery and business continuity plans, focusing on cloud-based strategies and including on-premises systems to address business risks within appropriate recovery timeframes.
Provides engineer-level server support across IT disciplines, focusing on Azure solutions but also supporting on-premises systems as needed.
Acts as technical services project lead for line of business projects, with significant projects centered around Azure and supplementary on-premises project responsibilities.

Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of experience in server support, with a strong emphasis on managing and implementing Azure services and a solid understanding of on-premises server management
Associate Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or closely related field; OR relevant technical certification (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate)
Proficient in managing Azure environments, including networking, AI, storage, and virtual machines
Experience with Microsoft Windows Server environments (2008, 2012, 2016, 2019) and the maintenance of on-premises infrastructure
Advanced experience with Microsoft Teams and Microsoft 365 integration
Knowledge of IT Security vulnerability management best practices, especially within cloud environments
Advanced understanding of networking concepts, with practical experience in both Azure and on-premises networking. Advanced experience with VMware virtualization technologies and principles
