We are looking for a Software Engineer IV to serve as the lead in the design, build, and maintenance of technical processes and data flows within and across platforms and products. You will work directly with the Enterprise Architects to ensure architecture standards, technical processes, and business processes are in alignment and delivering best practice solutions. You will have holistic knowledge and understanding of data flow across products, in-depth knowledge and understanding of technical processes, and serve as the subject matter expert.
Essential Job Functions
Design, build, and maintain technical processes, applying the principles of software engineering that span multiple technologies, programming languages, and database structures.
Communicate effectively/work with business and tech leads, software engineering managers, and enterprise architects within and across Platforms to provide alignment across technical and business processes for projects, enhancements, and issue resolution and explore/introduce new cutting-edge technology.
Organize, plan, lead, architect, and execute large-scale technical projects, upgrades, or implementations.
Update job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques, and computing equipment; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; and participating in professional organizations.
Works with business analysts and customers to resolve problems and help plan for future needs. Involves working within an established office environment under normal lighting and climate controls.
Works with users to understand the use of systems and system enhancement or modification needs.
Uses computer and analysis knowledge to analyze, design, and write new application systems. Involves color perception to design color-enhanced computer screens.
Creates and modifies complex applications programs, tests, debugs, documents, and maintains those programs.
Acts as a lead to Software Engineer I, Software Engineer II, and Software Engineer III. Includes assisting, training, and mentoring level I, II, and III analysts on application modification and enhancements used during the Software Development Life Cycle.
Serves as a technical authority for other Software Engineers, including performing peer reviews and pair programming.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Math, or related field and 8+ years of technical, analytical, systems, and programming experience.
Large-scale experience in software design and development.
Comprehensive working knowledge of database structures, on-premise and cloud.
Substantial knowledge on process modeling, data modeling, database design, and specification creation.
Strong organization, planning, communication, and technical skills, capable of delivering on multiple competing priorities with minimum supervision.
Stay abreast of best practices in development and follow standardized coding conventions.
Expertise in multiple programming languages, API development, and micro-services architecture.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Advocacy for best practices and standards.
Knowledge in project planning, management, and deployment is a plus.
