Physical Sciences Inc. (PSI), an employee-owned company located just north of Boston, is looking for an Operations Manager to oversee production activities in our facility in Wilmington, MA. PSI’s Sensor Systems production team is certified by NSF ISR to ISO 9001:2015 and designs, builds and integrates static and mobile detection systems used for monitoring against radiological, nuclear, chemical and biological threat activities. The systems that we develop are continuously deployed with relevant local and federal agencies, directly contributing to our nation’s security.
The ideal candidate should possess 5-10 years of manufacturing experience with strong production floor management skills. Strong communication skills are also required as the candidate is expected to interface with both employees and customers. The candidate should have experience working in a Low Rate Initial Production (LRIP) environment and be well versed in the utilization of 5S / Lean Manufacturing methodologies to continuously identify process improvements. The candidate is expected to take on several responsibility roles, including but not limited to: 1) allocation of resources across multiple production lines, 2) overseeing of purchasing and inventory, 3) tracking of key performance indicators from both the production floor and field service teams to ensure high quality, on-time delivery of products and services, 4) supervision of quality and testing to maintain ISO9001 compliance, and 5) ensuring all systems successfully undergo factory acceptance testing (internal and with customers on-site).
Bachelor’s degree with approximately 10 years’ experience or Master’s degree with 5-10 years’ experience.
