**About the Role:**
The cloud platform enables low-latency, high throughput and critical workflows that power Confluent Cloud. This platform enables end to end management, monitoring, elasticity, security and orchestration of the entire cloud ecosystem. We are looking for a senior leader to build parts of this platform footprint. In this role, we are excited for you to drive the vision, lay the roadmap, and build out a high-performing engineering organization.
**What You Will Do:**
+ Build a cloud platform with a regional infrastructure footprint to help scale Confluent Cloud into the new era of streaming data services.
+ Uplevel and overhaul operational posture and excellence of the cloud infrastructure to support 10x scale.
+ Build core platform technology pieces that can operate and scale across top three cloud providers - AWS, Azure, GCP.
+ Design automations, platforms, best practices and tools to enable disaster recovery of data stores, stateful systems and stateless systems.
+ Partner with senior leadership in R&D to drive cultural, technical, people and process improvements in a growing organization.
**What You Will Bring:**
+ 10+ years of engineering management experience leading productive, collaborative, high-functioning teams in a cloud environment.
+ 5+ years developing cloud native infrastructure software at scale.
+ Experience building, managing and running large scale distributed systems in the cloud.
+ Demonstrated experience in effectively influencing and working with the exec team using effective communication and collaborative techniques.
