Data Integrity Specialist - 100% Remote (Must Live in Greater Houston)

At Houston Methodist, the Data Integrity Specialist position is responsible for supporting the services related to the integrity of the integrated electronic health record (EHR). The position performs tasks to maintain the accuracy of the Enterprise Master Patient Index (EMPI). The position also monitors chart correction requests timely and implements actions to perform corrections as necessary to ensure accuracy of the integrated EHR.

Communicates effectively with customers to enlist their assistance in ensuring medical records are complete and accurate.
SERVICE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Performs the primary function of merging, chart correction, and identity overlays based on work volume and workflow needs.
Assists with testing for system upgrades, system builds, and system fixes.
QUALITY/SAFETY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Continuously evaluates the integrity of data in the health record in order to efficiently complete requests, identify and correct inconsistencies.
Determines the correct action to be taken to ensure the integrity of the data.
Adheres to department standards for productivity, timeliness, and quality.
Completes the transaction in all relevant hospital systems.
Reviews 100% of updates to assure its completeness, consistency, and compliance with hospital policy, procedures, and regulations.
FINANCE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Organizes time effectively, minimizing incidental overtime, and sets priorities. Utilizes time between heavy workloads efficiently and helps other team members.

EDUCATION
Associate's degree in health information management or related field required or additional two years of experience (in addition to the minimum experience requirements listed below) required in lieu of degree
Completion of some college courses focused in health information management/ technology preferred
WORK EXPERIENCE
Two years of experience performing tasks associated with EMPI, chart correction, and/or general health information management or related area
Prior EHR systems experience preferred
