Research Data Analyst_

The Infectious Disease Dynamics group in the Department of Epidemiology is seeking to hire a **_Research Data Analyst_** as part of a _Gates Foundation-funded_ project, where computational approaches to integrated, multi-pathogen serological surveillance will be further developed, optimized, and disseminated globally. Sero analytics, the practice of collecting and analyzing antibody data in individuals and populations, has emerged as a potentially efficient and impactful tool for informing disease prevention and control programs. The overarching objective of this project is to produce a centralized resource explicitly focused on how data derived from serological surveillance systems can be used and appropriately interpreted across pathogens and settings.

The candidate will be responsible for developing open-source computational software to analyze serological data using the R programming language, designing accompanying web apps using Shiny or other similar tools, and creating online training materials to support to dissemination of such tools. The candidate will have additional opportunities to disseminate the work via presentations, reports, and scientific manuscripts. This position is based in Baltimore, MD.

**Minimum Qualifications**

+ Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.

+ Three years related experience.

+ Additional education may substitute for required experience to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Master's Degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.

+ Advanced coding skills in R, including development of R packages.

+ Experience designing interactive web apps (e.g., Shiny).

+ Proficient coding skills in R.

+ Excellent organizational and communication skills.

+ Interest in infectious disease epidemiology and public health research.

+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Starting Salary Range: $47,500 - $83,300 Annually (Commensurate with experience)
