Communications Specialist

We are seeking a Communications Specialis t who will support the communications efforts of two centers based in the Department of Health Policy and Management: The Roger and Flo Lipitz Center to Advance Policy in Aging and Disability and the Hopkins' Economics of Alzheimer's Disease and Services (HEADS) Center.
This position will support communications needs through the end of August 2024 at 12 hours per week (8 hour per week to Lipitz Center and 4 to HEADS).
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Content Development & Design
Design communications materials, including graphics, promotional assets, presentations, and other items and send out to Center listserv via Mailchimp. During the summer months this is expected to include: Lipitz Center Annual Report, Lipitz Center Summer Issue Brief and HEADS summer newsletter.
Ensure all communications projects and efforts comply with brand standards of Johns Hopkins University, the Bloomberg School of Public Health and JHU Use of Name Guidelines.

Social Media
In collaboration with Center staff, develop and publish content from the Centers, partners, and other relevant sources to social media (Twitter, LinkedIn).
Website
Maintain the Lipitz Center and HEADS Center websites by adding or editing content as needed.
Monitor website on a regular basis to ensure information is up-to-date and accurate.
Special Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience using web content management systems (i.e. Drupal).
Experience with email campaign applications.
Experience with social media management.
Experience with design software/programs (i.e. Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, iMovie).
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in related field.
Two (2) years related experience.
Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
Interest in public health and public health policy.
Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
Ability to appropriately communicate with external partners.
Experience with social media and website content generation and management.
Proactively liaise and correspond with project team, contractors and other related personnel & partners.

Starting Salary Range: $23.43 - $41.02 HRLY (Commensurate with experience)
