Overview Of The Role
This Account Manager role will connect our brands with the independent market in Chicago and Northwest Indiana, including accounts like Tony’s, Pete’s, Angelo Caputo’s, Strack & Van Til, and Berkot’s. Your management of relationships and business acumen will elevate our brands’ presence in a critical market.
Remote; must be local to Itasca, IL (within 1 hour) and have the ability to visit our Chicago HQ office the West Loop
Travel Requirements: Less than 25% travel is all within reasonable driving distance of Chicago and its collar counties.

What You’ll Do At C.A. Fortune
Support clients in their sell-in efforts for new item launches, category reviews, promotional vehicles, and seasonal items.
Manage our clients’ day-to-day efforts in Chicago’s independent retailers, such as planning promotions, communicating pricing changes, communicating supply constraints, and monitoring competitive items both in your assigned retailers and competitive retailers.
What You Should Bring To The Table
2+ years experience working with retail at a headquarter level, or intimate understanding of the end-to-end promotional planning and category review processes
Sales experience with a passion for consumer packaged goods, food, and beverage industry
Thick skin when having a sale rejected, and active listening skills to reframe the sale for the next approach
Concise communication skills, and creativity when breaking through communication blockages
Willingness to get into stores regularly for intelligence gathering, including but not limited to snapping proof-of-performance & planogram photos, performing price analyses, and informing stores of upcoming promotions or product launches.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel
You Will Stand Out if You Have
Experience in Category Management
Experience in Category Analytics (or requisite Microsoft Excel skills)
Deep knowledge of sales and innovation trends within any specific departments or categories
