Chicago, Illinois, Location: Chicago, IL Job Description: Leads the development and execution of the Centerâs multi-stakeholder, multi-channel annual strategic marketing and communication plans. Leads social impact research and Centerâs news communication strategy and process. Develops and leads comprehensive marketing strategies for significant, donor-funded externally-facing programs and events, working closely with the Centerâs research and programs teams. Manages the assistant director of event and program marketing (who manages marketing support for 100+ events and programs annually) and associate director of marketing and communications (who leads content creation and leadership communications). Works closely with Chicago Booth and UChicago marketing teams to align Rustandy Center efforts with school and University priorities. Manages the Rustandy Centerâs marketing budget. Leads social media strategy and paid digital marketing efforts. Oversees the Centerâs brand voice and look. Approves all design-related marketing projects. Often leads and creates these projects as well. Develops, maintains, and continues to build the Centerâs brand measurement and reporting on overall brand performance, brand engagement, social media engagement, and digital performance of marketing channels. Supervises associate director, marketing and communications, to develop content creation strategy and performance reporting. Supervises assistant director, event and program marketing, to develop program and event communication performance reporting. Identifies and executes data-informed brand growth projects. Develops relationships with marketing teams for other organizations within the social sector to explore mutually beneficial relationships. Plans, develops, designs and implements the strategic and tactical marketing plans for a department or program. Directs, monitors and evaluates marketing communication and research programs. Maintains departmental priorities, allocates resources, and determines project direction in line with established priorities. Performs other related work as needed. Preferred Qualifications Education: M asterâs degree in marketing . Experience: A minimum eight years of marketing and brand strategy experience. Technical Skills or Knowledge: In-depth understanding of graphic design software tools, including Adobe Creative Cloud and Canva. Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Preferred Competencies Understands a wide variety of marketing and communications realms of expertise, including digital marketing, social media, analytics, creative, content development and market research. Demonstrates executional experience with an extensive set of marketing strategies and tactics. Outstanding verbal, written, presentation and organizational skills. Work independently with little supervision; possess a self-motivated disposition; identify opportunities for improvement and recommend effective changes, all while achieving key objectives resulting in desired outcomes. Excellent strategic planning, critical thinking, analytical, high attention to detail, and persuasion skills. Handle multiple detailed tasks/projects simultaneously and meet strict deadlines with frequent interruptions. Demonstrated ability to work effectively and diplomatically with colleagues and with students, faculty, and corporate contacts in a multitude of communication methods, i.e., in person, email, and phone. Professional demeanor, including tact, discretion, and a customer service-oriented approach. Working Conditions This position is currently expected to work a minimum three days per week in the office.
