Job Description: We are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Staff Development to oversee our facility's staff education and training programs. The Director of Staff Development will play a vital role in ensuring that our staff members receive the training and support they need to deliver quality care to our residents. This position requires a strong clinical background, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for staff development.
Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and evaluate staff education and training programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
Coordinate orientation programs for new hires and provide ongoing education and training for current staff members.
Collaborate with department heads to assess training needs and develop customized education plans for staff members.
Conduct competency assessments and skills validations for nursing staff and other healthcare professionals.
Serve as a resource and mentor to staff members, providing guidance and support to promote professional growth and development.
Stay current on the latest trends and evidence-based practices in nursing education and staff development.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and regulatory surveys related to staff education and training.
Maintain accurate records of staff education and training activities and ensure compliance with documentation requirements.
Qualifications: LVN with current licensure in the state of California.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in staff development or nursing education, preferably in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting.
Certification in Staff Development or Nursing Professional Development preferred.
Strong clinical background with knowledge of nursing principles and practices.
Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire staff.
Experience developing and implementing education and training programs.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and other relevant software programs.
Commitment to promoting a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
