The Payroll Analyst will be held accountable to high customer service standards, service level agreements and related metrics. They will perform all duties with tact, discretion and according to confidentiality requirements
Applies organizational policies and procedures to resolve a variety of payroll issues. Works on payroll problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.
Involves providing the highest level of customer service to all campus departments and units through a shared service Academic Personnel and Staff Human Resources organization. Work involves recommending, developing, implementing, administering, coordinating, and/or evaluating Academic Personnel and Staff Human Resources policies, contracts, statutes, programs and procedures covering several of the following in both the staff and academic areas: recruitment, appointment and advancement; compensation, salary administration and equity; faculty and staff welfare programs; employee relations, labor relations, payroll, benefits, training and development, visa procurement, intercampus transfers, and employee services.
Has primary responsibility to organize, analyze, validate, and enter all human resources data transactions into the HRIS systems. Assists AP and HR generalists with advanced AP/HR processes and procedures in administration of the lifecycle of personnel actions. Proactively identifies and resolves AP/HR processing issues. Analyzes, maintains and recommends improvements to internal employee record keeping systems. Independently advises employees on standard HR practices and procedures and resolves problems when clear procedures exist.
This role will serve as a member of the transactional team within a shared-service s center of the integrated AP/HR organization. This position will support AP and HR generalists with advanced processes and procedures to support client departments' business needs. The position may collaborate with departments, schools, business units and specialty centers to deliver efficient and effective transactional services and ensure compliance with UCSF policy and procedures.
Serves as the Subject Matter Specialist for HR Ops Processing Team for PeopleConnect. Position is designated as one of the super users for PeopleConnect for the HR Organization. This position communicates PeopleConnect system issues, suggests system and process enhancements, participates in testing new features and trains HR Ops Processing upon deployment of any system upgrades and changes. They will also serve as the lead in mass hire processing by utilizing UCPath CVS File Templates and sending the files via MFT - Managed File Transfer. In addition to mass hire, this position will also submit mass update to PayPath for actions resulting in a change to employee jobs.
Under direction of the HR Operations Manager, the Payroll Analyst 2 has primary responsibility to organize, analyze, validate, and enter all human resources and payroll data transactions into appropriate HRIS systems. They critically evaluates the information gathered from multiple sources, reconciles conflicts and researches inconsistencies in information. The incumbent regularly interacts with staff and managers throughout the AP/HR organization as well as client departments and other business units to address and resolve problems. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
