Summary:

Reporting to the Sr. Director- Environmental Compliance, the Manager - Environmental Compliance will be responsible for effectively and consistently managing the application of company environmental policies and procedures across his/her area of responsibility to ensure environmental compliance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Supervise environmental professionals, including development, performance, and administrative responsibilities

Coordinate and provide technical support to operations, engineering, regulatory and construction personnel.

Manage personnel in the preparation of environmental reports to various environmental agencies.

Ensure team develops a proficient knowledge of current federal, state and local environmental laws and regulations that affect company operations. Air Compliance will be a focus for this position and knowledge of Federal and State Aire Regulations is required.

Assist in the interpretation of regulations and training to company personnel to ensure compliance with applicable compliance requirements.

Assist with developing environmental scopes of work, manage records, train and conduct audits of operations and construction activities.

Work with environmental personnel to ensure that operations comply with applicable environmental regulations, permits, authorizations and agreements.

Assist in written interaction with federal, state and local environmental agencies.

Assist in area Emergency Response drills/exercises and incidents and be able to fill in as an ICS team member.

Travel within area of responsibility as needed.

Provides senior management with appropriate metrics on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.

Requirements:

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:

Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent knowledge demonstrated by work experience.

8+ years of experience

Experience in the environmental compliance profession

Knowledge of applicable Federal & State Air, Water, Solid/Hazardous Waste, and Wastewater regulations or requirements.

Must possess strong troubleshooting, problem solving, leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Must be able to perform in a fast paced ever changing environment, and simultaneously manage numerous activities at once.

Must be a self-starter with the ability to work in a team environment or independently as the workload requires.

Experience and competency with Microsoft Office

Valid Driver's License

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in an Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology or related discipline

2+ years of supervisory/management experience in a relevant industry

10+ years of environmental experience

Proficient knowledge of applicable Air, Solid Waste, and Wastewater regulations and requirements.

Working Conditions:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

Both Office and field working conditions.

Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting, driving or standing.

Occasional overnight travel may be required.

Required visits to industrial/manufacturing settings which may include hazardous materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require personalprotective equipment.

Lifting up to 50 lbs. occasionally
