About the role

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic VP of Marketing to spearhead our marketing initiatives and drive the growth of our community-driven ecosystem. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leveraging community for growth and marketing initiatives at enterprise software companies targeting developers. As the VP of Marketing, you will play a pivotal role in expanding our community, enhancing brand awareness, and driving user adoption.

What You'll Do

Community Growth: Develop and implement innovative community growth hacking strategies to rapidly expand our community of open-source contributors and scientists. Leverage creative tactics to increase community engagement, drive user acquisition, and foster content creation. Closely collaborate with Product and Analytics to own bottom-up demand generation.

Community-Led Demand Gen: Build and lead a community-driven marketing function focused on engaging and empowering our community members. Develop programs, initiatives, and incentives to drive participation, amplify our brand reach, and ultimately convert to top of funnel pipeline.

Developer Marketing Strategy: Craft and execute targeted marketing strategies that resonate with developers and technical audiences. Understand the unique needs, preferences, and behaviors of developers and tailor marketing efforts accordingly.

Brand Evangelism: Cultivate a culture of brand evangelism within our community and beyond. Empower community members to become brand advocates, influencers, and ambassadors, driving organic growth and word-of-mouth marketing.

Content Co-Creation: Collaborate with community members to co-create compelling content, including tutorials, documentation, blog posts, and case studies. Encourage knowledge sharing, peer-to-peer support, and collaborative content creation within the community.

Data-Driven Insights: Utilize data-driven insights and analytics to measure the effectiveness of community growth initiatives and marketing campaigns. Continuously optimize strategies based on key metrics and performance indicators.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, product, finance, and customer success, to align marketing efforts with business objectives and ensure a cohesive customer experience.

Leadership and Mentorship: Build and mentor a high-performing marketing team with a focus on cultivating talent and fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.

About you

Proven track record of success in community-led growth and leading community-driven marketing functions at enterprise software companies targeting developers.

Deep understanding of developer marketing principles, tactics, and best practices.

Experience with open-source communities, developer ecosystems, and developer tools/platforms.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to derive actionable insights from data and metrics.

Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Creative thinker with a passion for experimentation, innovation, and disruptive marketing strategies.

Bachelor's degree in computer or life science. Alternatively, multiple years working with developers in a B2D or Bio SaaS company
